Making Waves in the Mountain Art Show

Date:    Thursday, May 08, 2014
Time:    Various Starting Times
Where:  Scotia Creek Gallery in Millennium Place

Art GalleryCatch a cool art show and support a cool cause during the Making Waves in the Mountains art showcase at Millennium Place. The exhibition is focused on surf inspired artwork from artists rooted right here in B.C. Sometimes it's forgotten that B.C has a strong surf presence in the province with Vancouver Island and certain spots off the coast providing great waves to ride throughout the year.

This 2-week exhibition is being held to benefit Surf Pemberton, an organization trying to construct a standing river wave in the Rutherford Creek area just north of Pemberton. The idea behind a standing wave is that it's powered by the river meaning it can pretty well be ridden all year long.

The surf inspired art show will be on display in the Scotia Creek Gallery located inside Whistler Millennium Place. Entry to view the gallery is FREE. All of the art pieces on display during the show are for sale with all proceeds going towards the Surf Pemberton project. The art show is on display from May 1-11.
