2013 Cornucopia Review

2013 Cornucopia Review

The countdown to the Whistlers insane ski season is on. The countdown is also on for Whistlers biggest gourmet event of the year. This year, Cornucopia presented by the BlueShore Financial is the biggest ever, with 11 days of nonstop action from seminars, presentations, events and more.

The event dates are 7th - 17th November 2013 with events running from before sunrise to after sunset there is no shortage of action for everyone.

Sommeliers are some of the most intriguing people in the world, essentially drinking wine for a living. There is more to it, and two of Vancouver's most popular sommeliers Kurtis Kolt and Diane Van Mulligen will give you an insight into wine, and leave you with the skills to swirl, sniff, sip and spit with the best of them.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort and Whistler Conference Centre are the two main locations where the events are held. If you are going to be travelling Europe in the future, on the 10th of November, there are three seminars covering Spain, France and Portugal 101. With samples from these countries, it will be a great introduction on what you can expect and get some insider knowledge that visitors normally miss out on.

For a personalised dining experience, you may want to book one of four private luncheons held at private homes catered by top chefs including Neil Taylor, Jeff Van Geest and Terry Pichor. These events are a chance to ask questions personally and experience dining on a whole new level.

Cornucopia is bigger and better than ever and with 11 days of nonstop action there is the potential for burnout. Be sure to plan your days well in advance, most events happen on multiple days so there is no need to rush. If you are struggling to make a decision, you can give an agent a call on 1.800.944.7853.

**The Whistler Conference Centre is strictly R19, therefore it is important to have any childcare arranged to avoid being turned away at the door**
