WB Extends Ski Season

It was recently announced that Whistler Blackcomb will be extending Blackcomb Mountain's closing date by seven days. This means lifts on Blackcomb Mountain will continue running until May 27, 2013. It was also announced in the release that starting April 22nd the mountain's will begin opening at 10 AM.
"Whistler Blackcomb is lucky to boast one of the longest ski seasons in North America," said Stuart Rempel, WB's VP of marketing and sales, in the release. "Whether it is skiing freshly groomed corn snow, or enjoying an après beverage while listening to live music on the patio of Merlin's, we want to make sure guests have the best possible spring experience."
It was also announced that the Whistler Bike Park will be targeting May 17, 2013, at the opening day. "The trails are currently covered in a layer of snow, but as of April 22 our dedicated trail crews will start to clear the snow and resurrect the park in time for opening day on May 17," says bike park manager Brian Finestone in a release.
