Epic Snow at Whistler Blackcomb for 2016 Winter Season

Whistler Blackcomb Carries on 50 Year Tradition

Gearing up for opening day, officially set for November 26th, Whistler Blackcomb also celebrates 50 years of downhill this year..

Whistler Fresh Tracks - Paul MorrisonAnd with news of a "Godzilla El Nino" making everyone wonder what to expect, it looks like first predictions are for a very snowy winter season.

With a base at 45cm already plus tons more snow on the way, Whistler Blackcomb did what you would expect them to do: They took a heli up with a couple awesome skiers and an incredible photographer, and gave us a Fresh Tracks session to whet our appetites.

Bring it on, El Nino

Mike Douglas and Robin Van Gyn did the dirty work and laid down some really fresh tracks on the back of Blackcomb November 3rd.

They proved just how epic this season is going to be, by volunteering their skis to the science of epic reality.

Bottom line is that Whistler Blackcomb is ready for this season to be everything that a 50th anniversary should be. And more.

I think it is fair to say that with all the excitement and good vibes brought about by the seriousness of a golden anniversary, there is no way that this winter season is going to be any less than seriously amazing.

We can't wait to see the looks on your faces when you get here.

Coupled with a 40th Anniversary for Whistler Village...

The 40th anniversary of the Resort Municipality of Whistler means that this winter will be full of celebrations. Come join us this winter for the double anniversary here.

This Winter, Visit Whistler and Celebrate with us

With both celebrations happening this season you'll find that the entire village and Whistler Blackcomb are full of an atmosphere that just makes everyone smile.

There is no doubt that this year, Whistler village is going to be the place to ski.

Whistler Blackcomb has already been voted number one ski resort in North America for the upcoming season. The snow is falling, rumours are circling around about upcoming opening dates (this weekend, perhaps?) and everyone is getting ready for what is sure to be another record-breaking season.

So join us, won't you?
