Whistler Weather Forecast: Spring Has Sprung!
The signs are everywhere: From rumours that the Whistler Bike Park will open early, to the birds chirping and sun shining. Spring is in the air and the Whistler weather forecast couldn't be better.
Spring in Whistler is a time of transitions. Brian Finestone is busy getting the Whistler Bike Park ready for mountain bikes while ski and snowboarders are still trying to get their last runs in. Though the season hasn't had as much powder as previous years, there's still enough to keep upcoming competitions happening. The GoPro IFSA Junior Freeski Competition, for example, while regularly scheduled to take place on Blackcomb, has been relocated to Whistler. But the show must go on.
Some optimistic amateur weather forecasters have attempted to predict that the Whistler Bike Park will open in time for the World Ski and Snowboard Festival. And though that is not likely to happen, it is very possible that the park will open earlier than its scheduled May 15th start.
