Its Summer Concert Season in Whistler

Whistler's annual Summer Concert Series is about to kick into high gear with 6 shows over the next 3 weeks. Presented by the Village of Whistler the Whistler Summer Concert Series is a series of FREE concerts taking place at the outdoor venue Whistler Olympic Plaza. The Concert Series is a diverse gathering of musicians, ranging from classic jazz to bluegrass country to alternative rock. For the next three weekends, there will be two shows every Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Check the complete schedule below along with a quick bio on each artist.

** All concerts take place at outdoor venue Whistler Olympic Plaza. Don't forget to bring blankets or lawn chairs if you want to sit on the grass!

Friday, August 21

Time: 7:30 PM
Dal Richards

The Dal Richards band is set to bring his swing and big band style of music to Whistler. At age 97! this Canadian music icon is still rocking hard and will have all you cats jumping and jiving on the 21st.

Saturday, August 22

Time: 7:30 PM
Moon Vs Sun featuring Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk

This Canadian musical power couple bring their talents together to entertain the Whistler crowds. Former Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida his lovely wife Chantal Kreviazuk have combined to sell millions of records. Join them for an intimate concert at Olympic Plaza on August 22nd.

Friday, August 28

Shane Koyczan and the Short Story Long

Part spoken word part beautiful ballad Shane Koyczan and the Short Story Long bring their unique style to Whistler on the 28th. Shane uses his powerful voice to narrate his thoughts to a background of beautiful choruses and vocals.

Blue Rodeo

Canadian Country Rock icons Blue Rodeo are set to rock their second home Whistler on August 28. This band is a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, check out their classics 'Hasn't Hit Me Yet' or 'Lost Together' to get a sense.

Saturday, September 6

Great Lake Swimmers

Let these Canadian indie darlings swoon you over with their combination of folk style and alternative music. Beautiful ballads and great live instruments including banjos, violins, and guitars make this a sit back in your chair and enjoy the night.

Spirit of the West

Spirit of the West continues to rock audiences with their original and potent blend of Folk, Celtic, Rock, Pop and Punk.  The band that began in 1983 as an innocent trio of acoustic guitar, flutes and bouzouki is now a musical and performance powerhouse that features 6 musicians and dozens of instrument changes in a night's worth of timeless and beloved songs.
