2015 Araxi Long Table Series
What happens when you combine the top ranked restaurant in Whistler with one of the top organic farms in the area? The results, one amazing dining experience!
Check out the Araxi Long Table Series hosted at North Arm Farm on Saturday, September 5. The farm is nestled in the small farming community of Pemberton, BC about a 30-minute drive away from the Whistler Village.
The event will feature a 4-course meal cooked by world-renowned chef James Walt and his Araxi Restaurant staff. Chef James Walt a long time customer of the organic producer North Arm Farm dreamt up the idea of serving people in the fields where their food was actually grown. It also helped that North Arm Farm is located at the base of Mount Currie Mountain one of the most idyllic settings in the Sea to Sky.
During the event, guests will be given a private tour of the farm including a walk through the produce fields, where just hours before the ingredients for their meals were picked. Afterwards, guests will be seated at a giant long table, from which the event takes its name, and will dine on 4 delicious courses. Each course of food will be paired with a different wine, overseen by Araxi Wine Director Samantha Rahn, winner of the 2013 Sommelier of the Year. Each course of food will feature ingredients taking right from the farm with the meats being sourced locally - no further than 100KM from the farm as per Walt's strict guidelines. In years past this has included fresh salmon from the local Pemberton rivers or locally secured beef from the Pemberton Meadows Cow farms.
This year's event is set to be the longest long table yet as the event continues to grow in popularity year after year. Tickets for the event are $159 and are usually snapped up quickly.
