2015 Whistler Turkey Sale Preview

Nothing says Canadian Thanksgiving in Whistler like hitting up the annual Turkey Sale at Whistler Blackcomb. The sale is held once a year and offers outrageous savings on ski and snowboard gear for the upcoming season. Big ticket items like skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, jackets and clothing can often be found up to 50 - 60% off.

The Turkey Sale takes place at the Blackcomb Mountain Day Lodge and features huge discounts on brand new gear for the 2016 season. The sale features gear from top named brands in the industry including Burton, North Face, Atomic, Smith, Rossignol, Volkl, Columbia, Salomon & many more.

Be sure to take note of some of our useful tips outlined below, before heading over to the lodge for October 9th-12th.

Useful Tips

• Know your size | Make sure to know all of your sizes before you get there! The first couple of days at the sale can be very busy, so know your size so that you don't have to waste too much time trying things on!
• Get there early | Whistler Blackcomb only releases so much gear per day, so the early bird really does get the worm. The earlier you are the more selection you'll have in both style and sizes.
• New gear releases daily | Fret not -- they release new gear every day! If you don't find what you're looking for on the first day, you may want to consider going back for another look.
• You can actually buy a Turkey | The event is called "The Turkey Sale" because they sell actual turkeys in the line-up. That's right you can get (almost) everything you'll need for the weekend, simply by bringing $15 cash. Better yet all proceeds from the turkeys go towards the Whistler Food Bank.
• Check out the Village sales | The Blackcomb Day Lodge isn't the only place you'll see huge savings. The entire town catches Turkey Sale fever- most stores in The Village hold their own sidewalk sales with just as good of deals (sometimes even better!) So if you didn't find what you were looking for at the Sale, take a stroll around the Village and chances are you'll find what you're looking for there.

Whistler Ski & Snowboard Swap

Happening at the same time outside the Day Lodge is the Whistler Mountain Ski & Snowboard Swap. The swap is held under a big outdoor tent and features huge savings on hill related clothing and gently used ski and snowboard equipment. Whistler Blackcomb rental shops will often sell their last season rental gear, which is often only very gently used! Locals and visitors can also partake by bringing their own used gear to the tent, to either sell or swap with other individual buyers. This makes The Swap one of the best places to stretch a dollar if you're looking for a new downhill setup.
