Whistler Village at Night — Delights
From family ice skating to intimate cocktails at exclusive enclaves....
Whistler Village at night delights with well-lit strolls along romantic cobblestone paths leading from one magical encounter to the next.
Be captivated by shop window displays, enticed by the smells
wafting from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or stop to take a
look at the Fire & Ice show, a free ski and snowboard acrobatic
display put on each Sunday evening near the GLC (Garibaldi Lift
Co.).
There's family ice skating at Olympic Plaza, cozy meals at any
number of five-star restaurants, and an array of ideas for after
dinner that might make your head spin just trying to decide. Have
you ever thought to try champagne uncorked via sword? What about
sub-zero vodka (arctic jackets supplied by Bearfoot
Bistro)?
We've come up with a little list of ideas to whet your appetite
after the sun goes down in Whistler Village. There's lots to do for
every taste and style.
1. Ice Skate at Olympic Plaza...and other free things to do.
For all the luxurious surroundings, Whistler Village is surprisingly affordable. The municipality often sponsors fun, free and family-friendly activities such as the outdoor ice skating at Olympic Plaza. Open 7-days a week, weather permitting, the rink is a super fun way to enjoy an ageless pastime. Rentals are available for $5 if you need skates; helmets are provided for free.
There is also the Fire and Ice show, this time put on by Whistler Blackcomb every Sunday evening through the season. accomplished skiers and snowboarders from the Whistler Blackcomb ski school perform dazzling acrobatics through a ring of fire while fire dancers entertain.
2. Party All Night
Of course this is Whistler, so if you want to stay out all night
until the break of dawn you can do that. And you have many, many
choices. Whistler "night life" is alive and kicking, with many
outlets to choose from. Often bars have live music or awesome DJs
and they are quite often crowded with people having a very good
time.
If you'd like to participate in an actual Whistler
Bar Hop, there is a service for that. Meeting each Friday
and Saturday night at 7:00 at the Fireside Lounge, they set out to
show you a Whistler night of fun with friends. Included in your
ticket price is access to all bars/clubs, five drink vouchers,
shared plates of bar snacks and a guided tour of Whistler night
life.
3. Intriguing Options
Whistler has a well-deserved reputation for being the number one resort in North America. You can find intriguing opportunities in Whistler Village that set this vacation spot apart from others. This includes Bearfoot Bistro. There is a page on the Bearfoot Bistro website named "The Experience". You don't simply have dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro - You embark on a culinary journey. And part of that journey can include things like drinking champagne which has been uncorked with a sabre, drinking vodka in sub-zero temperatures, dining in the wine cellar, and experiencing the champagne apres.
We have long wintry nights with fabulous starry skies for awhile longer still. Come visit us and experience the magic that Whistler at night can be.
