Whistler's Art on the Lake Workshops Have Returned for August
Whistler's 7th annual Art on the Lake workshops are up and running! The workshops take place at the Alta Lake Station House and feature a variety of different visual art forms. The heritage house overlooks Alta Lake with a breathtaking view of nature that could inspire any artist.

Sculpting with James Stewart

Everything will be provided for you in this multi-day sculpting course with James Stewart. Come ready to be absorbed in figurative sculpture from a live model and thrive with the intensive, objective instruction that will push the advanced modeller and give structure to the beginner. Creative Exploration Through Expressive Arts with Lisa Geddes & Jill Dawson Nowack
August 6 - 7
This two-day workshop welcomes both experienced artists and those that are just starting to embrace their creativity. Students will begin to rethink their art making practices using exercises and exploring a range of expressive techniques with simple art materials. This is an opportunity to enjoy the creative process rather than the finished product.
Creatures Great and Small: Painting Birds and Animals in Acrylics with Janice Robertson
August 12 - 14
This class, taught by Janice Robertson, focuses on different acrylic techniques for painting birds and other animals. The stylistic approach for the workshop will feature fairly realistic renditions of the subject, with a more abstract background. 50 Shades of Blue with Dominik Modlinski

Dominik J Modlinski welcomes you to a three-day intensive course of inspiration and innovation. This workshop is intended for intermediate to advanced artists who are looking to enhance their perception, creative visualization, and expand their knowledge of oil and acrylic painting. Drama Queens with Marney-Rose Edge

Marney-Rose Edge will work with you to encourage your own art and style in this three-day workshop geared to all levels in watercolour. Introduction to Silk Screening with Andrea Mueller

Learn the tricks and techniques of silk screening that you can't learn from a instruction manual or online. Andrea Mueller will teach you everything from how to; prepare a screen, shoot a screen, printing tricks for fabric and paper, and even what type of light bulb can you use to reduce your exposure time. Acrylic Explorations with Suzanne Northcott

Come to expand the language of your acrylic techniques. Provide your own subject matter (sketches, photos, physical items or ideas) and materials you have always wanted to try or to know more about. Suzanne Northcott will work to meet each individuals needs and help them expand their practice in a personal way.
