Celebrate Canada Day in Whistler for 2017
Summer in Whistler is always a good time, but Canada Day weekend ramps it up with fireworks, parades, and other special events. Plus, with 2017 being Canada's 150th birthday, Whistler is sure to have some big things planned for the big day this summer.
Whistler's nightlife is always bustling on Canada Day weekend but it's not the only thing for visitors to do while they're here. Check out a few things you can do with the whole family this Canada Day in Whistler!
Canada Day Parade
It just wouldn't be Canada Day without a parade through the Village Stroll. Come out and watch the parade at Noon on July 1st, 2017. Whistler's Village Stroll will be alive with families and spectators as the parade weaves itself through the streets. There will be plenty of spots to watch the festivities throughout the village on Canada Day so no need to worry about missing the action. Enjoy all the staples of a good parade; including festive costumes, kids on bikes, beauty pageant winners, mounties, parade floats, music, marching, and a whole bunch more.
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra
The much-loved Vancouver Symphony Orchestra returns to Whistler this summer and Canada Day. Everybody can enjoy the Symphony on Canada Day! Join in on the fun at Whistler Olympic Plaza at 8:30pm to watch a free performance by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Bring a blanket or chairs and have a dinner on the grass as you enjoy some amazing musicians play.
Whistler Mountain Fireworks Display
Here's another Canada Day tradition we all know and love - fireworks! Top off an already perfect Canada Day in Whistler with an amazing fireworks display on the side of Whistler Mountain. Join in on the sky fire extravaganza by coming out to Skiers Plaza at 10pm on July 1st. Bring the whole family to this celebration of lights and experience Canada's 150th birthday in beautiful British Columbia!
